About the founder

My name is Melissa, and I am the founder and lead locator of Blind Move Charlotte. I am a licensed real estate broker, who has been locating apartments for over 3 years now. Since I moved so much growing up –New York to Missouri to Massachusetts to Georgia to Virginia– I understand the nervousness and life-altering feeling that comes with being the new girl in town. Over the last 16 years, however, I have happily called North Carolina home. Charlotte is by far my favorite place I have lived; I’ve enjoyed my life so much here: I’ve met my best friends, graduated college (Go Niners!), and become a homeowner here. At this point, I consider myself a true-blue Charlottean. I've been able to watch my city grow from a small town where everybody knows your name to the diverse, thriving metropolis it is now.

I love Charlotte, and it is my heart to have my clients fall in love too. Its beauty lives in its multiplicity: it has all the elements and trends of a modern, vibrant metropolitan city with the charm and hospitality of a small Southern town. Charlotte feels like a breath of fresh air, and it is a great place to build a great life and pursue a big dream. That's why it is my mission to bring as many unique stories, talents and skills here, so we can continue to build the city together. I want you to begin your new life with excitement and joy. Our whole process is designed to help you find the apartment that best suits your specific needs. You’re a unique person with your own story and reason for moving to Charlotte, so we want to make sure to suggest apartment options that bear that in mind.

Our whole entire mission is dedicated to making sure you’re okay – that you feel good about your decision, you feel safe and comfortable with your move, and that you feel less stress and more at ease with your transition to Charlotte. We’re here until you move in! (And even after that if you need something haha!)

About our process

Consultation

Your journey with Blind Move Charlotte begins with a consultation, via phone call or Zoom.

We take the time to understand your needs, preferences, and lifestyle goals to ensure we find the perfect apartment for you. We will also discuss service options, so we can ensure you are choosing the service that works best for you.

Apartment List

Based on our consultation, we provide a custom list of luxury apartments that match your criteria. Each option is carefully selected to meet your specific requirements and desires.

With our full service option, we are with you every step of the way until you find what you need; so if we need to tweak some things on the list, we can!

Tour

Once you have decided which communities you would like to tour, we will get those scheduled for you. Tours can be done in person or virtually.

Our goal is to make this process as convenient and enjoyable as possible.

Lease

We assist with every step of the application and leasing process, ensuring a seamless transition into your new apartment.

From paperwork to finalizing your lease, we’ve got you covered.

Before you schedule

In Charlotte, apartments whose price points are under $1500 for a 1 bedroom or under $1800 for 2 bedrooms tend not to work with apartment locators, which means they do not pay the commission that allows the $75 service fee to be refundable. However, we want you to be housed properly, so we have complied a budget-friendly list of apartments that typically stay below our starting price points.
